The Rangers are back in action tonight, looking to extend their winning streak to four games in a row against the Buffalo Sabres. It will be their last game in this stretch without Adam Fox, as he is set to return on Wednesday. While Buffalo is nowhere near as good as the Rangers and are missing Tage Thompson, they are still a dangerous team.
What’s holding Buffalo back is team defense, which has surrendered 70 goals already this season. Their offense has been inconsistent, and likely will be again with Thompson out. This does have the feeling of a trap game, but then again so did the game against the Flyers on Friday. This Rangers team is different. They won’t win them all, but they seem less susceptible to the trap game than years past.
