The Rangers look to keep their winning ways going in Dallas tonight, facing a Stars team that is pretty loaded. Dallas is 11-4-1 and sit atop the Central Division standings at the moment, and boast solid forward depth with a top line that is one of the best in the NHL. Their defensive depth and goaltending are good enough complements to their solid forward core.

The Blueshirts are going to be without Filip Chytil for a while, so their current crop of forwards will need to keep this ship moving forward. Their 5v5 play has left a lot to be desired, especially on offense, and they’ve been winning with solid team defense, goaltending, and the powerplay. Their second line is essentially their top line at the moment too.

After a relatively easy start to the season, Dallas represents their second straight game against a playoff team, and second of four in a five game span. Rationally, going .500 against the playoff teams is fine. Irrationally, riding their hot streak means a clean sweep. Dallas is certainly beatable, and the Rangers can bank another two points with a strong team effort tonight.
