The Rangers are still a little banged up as they head into their first showdown with the Devils of the season. The Blueshirts will still be without Adan Fox and Filip Chytil, but as of the writing of this post, it looks like Ryan Lindgren and Igor Shesterkin will be back for the Blueshirts. That’s welcomed news, but it still leaves the Blueshirts shorthanded.

The Devils are fighting injuries of their own. Nico Hischier is out indefinitely and Timo Meier is also out tonight. They do look like they are getting Jack Hughes back, which bolsters a decimated top-six. Neither team is at full strength, and on paper the Rangers do have the advantage given the injuries.

This is a prime opportunity for the Rangers to get another two points against a division rival. Sometimes you just need to get the two points, regardless of the situation.
