DFS Hockey 10/30 - Vegas is in a good spot tonight.

DFS Hockey 10/30 has 9 games to choose from tonight, and there are some clear teams to avoid and even clearer teams to target. Remember that this isn’t about which team will win, but about which specific players could have big nights and look good for fantasy hockey purposes. Think of this as fantasy hockey, but you pick a different team every day.

As a reminder, be sure to check out my primer on how to win big at DFS hockey. And as always, please bet and play responsibly. Remember though, just because it’s called out here doesn’t mean there aren’t other options. Play who you like! This is just what I like. I tailor these to high ceiling tournaments, which comes with risk of flaming out and finishing in last. High risk, high reward.

Today’s Goalies

The more I play this game, the more I lean towards putting less money on goalies to open up higher ceiling skaters. That’s not a specific rule, but if the night has some good goalie options for cheap, that’s the route I choose to go.

  • Ville Husso (Detroit – $7,600) – The Isles can’t score and can’t generate high danger chances consistently. Detroit is having a better than expected start to the season. Husso is likely the chalk, and probably your cash game goalie too.
  • Jonas Johansson (Tampa – $7,900) – Seattle gets a ton of shots, but they don’t get many high-danger chances (6th worst). This comes with risk, since Tampa is 11th-worst in HD chances allowed.
  • Avoid Jake Oettinger (Dallas – $8,500) / Adin Hill (Vegas – $8,400) – Too expensive with other, higher ceiling plays available.

Teams to Target/Avoid (Skaters)

In an effort to get this content up with enough time for those interested to review, this has been going up before some of the data is available, specifically line matchups. I will do my best to update once it becomes available.

As a reminder, these are just suggestions. I will likely have a few lineups tonight given the size of the slate. Some will have these teams. Some will have other teams. Some may even have players from teams I list to avoid. It really depends on the price points.

  • Target Pittsburgh – Anaheim is bad, and they have some good matchups. Will be expensive though.
  • Target Seattle – Volume is king on DraftKings, so it may seem counter productive to have Seattle skaters targeted while also saying target Johansson in net for Tampa. I won’t have Seattle skaters in my Johansson lineup, but will have them elsewhere.
  • Target Vegas – Easy matchup, high octane offense.
  • Target Florida/Boston – High volume teams. BOS1 is expensive and possibly cost prohibitive. FLA lineup is dependent on Sam Bennett. Proceed with caution.
  • Avoid Chicago – Arizona is surprisingly decent defensively (15th in HDCA/60). I’m surprised too.
