DFS Hockey tonight - Connor Hellebuyck rebound game?
Hellebuyck- Zimbio.com

We have a full slate tonight with 9 games, but most are projected to be ugly. That doesn’t mean there won’t be goals, as most have over/under lines of 6.5. But it will play into our strategy, particularly for goalies.

As a reminder, be sure to check out my primer on how to win big at DFS hockey. And as always, please bet and play responsibly. I won’t be putting that many words in each of these going forward, just the guys that caught my eye and why. Remember though, just because it’s called out here doesn’t mean there aren’t other options. Play who you like! This is just what I like.

Reviewing Sunday’s picks

I didn’t get a chance to run a bunch of lineups due to personal reasons, so I threw one together last second with TOR1, NYR2, and Darcy Kuemper. Kuemper hit, the liens did not.

Sunday I ran OTT1 and CAR2 with Joonas Korpisalo in net. I finished 172nd out of 2,900 in my one entry.

Goalies:

    • Antti Raanta ($8.3k): -0.7 points. Woof.

Team Picks:

    • Target Ottawa: This was good advice.
    • Avoid Anaheim: Even bad teams score every now and then

Today’s Goalies

  • Connor Hellebuyck ($8.1k): Soft landing spot after 2 bad games. LA has a high CF/60 and a low HDCF/60. If he doesn’t produce tonight, I’m done with him.
  • Marc-Andre Fleury ($8.1k): Montreal just lost Kirby Dach for the year, which is a significant hit to their offense. It’s risky since he may not get the volume to be a big DK points producer tonight.

Teams to Target/Avoid

Changing this up a bit. Instead of picking stacks and defensemen, going with teams to target. You aren’t going to be playing fourth lines and bottom pairs. Instead we pick teams/games to target that should be boat races, and avoid teams/games that should be a slog. This will get more fine tuned as we get more data on each team’s tendencies.

  • Target Buffalo/Tampa: Game has the highest over/under tonight at 7, which should translate to volume for both teams.
  • Avoid Arizona/Isles: Neither team can score.
  • Target Vancouver: Philly is really bad.
  • Target (Cash) or Avoid (GPP) Carolina: High floor, but high owned. Cash game must, but I’ll avoid in GPPs tonight due to ownership.
