The NY Rangers lines tonight for their 2023-2024 season opener are mostly what we have come to expect. There was a bit of a blip as Alexis Lafreniere initially skated on the third line, but that has been reverted back to Lafreniere on the second line with Artemi Panarin and Filip Chytil.
#NYR lineup for the final practice before the opener:
Kreider – Zib – Kakko
Panarin – Chytil – Laf
Cuylle – Trocheck – Wheeler
Goodrow – Bonino – PitlickLindgren – Fox
Miller – Trouba
Gustafsson – SchneiderVesey and Jones look like the scratches.

The extras for now are Jimmy Vesey and Zac Jones, with Vesey being the shocking 13F. That’s again just for now, and we do expect Vesey to be back in the lineup in short order. Pitlick hasn’t been an 82 game player in quite some time. Jones wasn’t a surprise, as Erik Gustafsson outplayed him –and most of the other defensemen– in the preseason.
Again, there will be many iterations of the lines. The NY Rangers lines tonight were what most expected.
