The Rangers have made their next round of cuts, waiving 6 players. The cuts include Riley Nash, who many had as a “dark horse” for a 13F. The reality is that Nash was never a realistic NHL option without a number of injuries.
Placed on NHL waivers today: Keaton Middleton (COL), Spencer Smallman (COL), Alex Belzile (NYR), Anton Blidh (NYR), Turner Elson (NYR), Ty Emberson (NYR), Connor Mackey (NYR), Riley Nash (NYR) and Adam Gaudette (STL).

The interesting thing here is Alex Belzile is getting cut, as he was the projected 13F if none of the kids made the roster. With both Brennan Othmann and Will Cuylle playing very well in camp, it looks like one of them will break camp with the Rangers. Cuylle likely still has the inside track, as he projects more as a bottom six player. Othmann would be better served getting big minutes in the AHL.
