NY Rangers first preseason game lineup announced

The NY Rangers first preseason game lineup has been announced, and it is pretty light on NHLers for tonight’s game against Boston. We will see the new “third line” of Jimmy Vesey-Filip Chytil-Alexis Lafreniere. We will also get a look at Zac Jones, albeit with Ben Harpur, but since it’s the first preseason game they may not get caved in by the opposition.

It will be interesting to see how Will Cuylle looks, since he hasn’t been on a line with any of the players that will break camp with the Rangers in October. It looks like he’s on the outside looking in, but a strong performance tonight could change that. Brett Berard is another name that people are watching, but he’s unlikely to make an NHL impact this season.

Matthew Robertson and Ryder Korczak are other players that catch my eye, if just to see how they look and if they made any progress from last season. Both have been trending down as prospects lately.
