Per Stephen Whyno, the Rangers have signed center Nick Bonino to a 1 year contract. CapFriendly has it listed at $800k, so we will go with that while Twitter deals with its rate limiting issues that are totally not because the new CEO scrapped a bunch of necessary back-end services that were “unnecessary” but are actually quite necessary.
Bonino was the butt of many jokes when he was given a 4 year contract by the Nashville Predators, a contract that was a massive overpayment. But Bonino is an effective 4C and at $800k, this is a fine low risk move for a 4C. For what it’s worth Bonino wins 50% of his faceoffs, but has gotten progressively worse his last two seasons.
