NY Rangers qualifying offers have been sent to 5 restricted free agents, per Vince Mercogliano. Alexis Lafreniere and K’Andre Miller were the obvious guys getting QO’s. The rest are AHL players: Lauri Pajuniemi, who left for Europe this summer, Ty Emberson, and Brandon Scanlin. Libor Hajek, Cooper Zech, and Patrick Khodorenko were not qualified.
The #NYR have given qualifying offers to the following RFAs:
Alexis Lafreniere, K’Andre Miller, Ty Emberson, Lauri Pajuniemi, Brandon ScanlinThe following players were not qualified:
Libor Hajek, Patrick Khodorenko, Cooper Zech— Vince Z. Mercogliano (@vzmercogliano) June 30, 2023
Funny enough, all five qualifying offers are the exact same amount ($874,125). Of this quintet, only Pajuniemi and Scanlin are arbitration eligible, thus one will need to file for arbitration to open the second buyout window.
While it does appear that the Libor Hajek era in New York has come to an end, there is still a path for him to return by simply taking an offer with the Rangers.
