With their 5th round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, #152 overall, the Rangers took another defenseman in Rasmus Larsson. The Swedish defenseman is an over-ager at 19 years old, something the Rangers seem to be doing a lot of lately. He put up 16 goals and 34 points in the Swedish J20 league, but hasn’t been above that league yet in his career.
There isn’t much available on Larsson, but based on his stat line he appears to be a puck mover with a good shot. He’s a pretty big kid as well at 6’3 and 200 lbs. Looks like he’s coming to the NCAA’s next year with Northern Michigan. That’s all we have right now.
