Dylan Roobroeck

The NY Rangers took forward Dylan Roobroeck, a center out of the OHL, with their first 6th round selection in the 2023 NHL Draft. Roobroech is the obligatory Rangers draft giant at 6’7 and 205 lbs. He put up 15 goals and 53 points as an 18 year old with Oshawa this season. He, like Rasmus Larsson before him, is an over-ager.

I’m out of my element on the players at this point, but it does seem rather odd that the Rangers dedicate one pick per year on a guy who is 900 inches tall and doesn’t do much else. Not saying Roobroeck can’t do much else, because again I don’t know, but he’s another overage giant. Skating is an issue, apparently.
