It’s the last game of the season, and the Rangers don’t have anything to play for. The playoffs start next week, and they have everything set at this point. The only goal is to not get hurt and maybe (hopefully?) get some powerplay chances to work on that. Otherwise, this is meaningless hockey aside from the Blueshirts off our backs ceremony after the game.
Toronto is in a similar situation, hoping to avoid injuries. They shoehorned Matthew Knies onto their roster for tonight, creating a cap crunch and an EBUG situation that upset a few people. Yet, they were able to use emergency call ups, unlike the Rangers. Amazing how that works, isn’t it?
Just don’t get hurt tonight. That’s all that matters.
