NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MARCH 22: Chris Kreider #20 of the New York Rangers (r) celebrates his second goal of the game at 5:47 of the third period on the powerplay against Dustin Tokarski #31 of the Buffalo Sabres at Madison Square Garden on March 22, 2021 in New York City. It’s the home stretch for the NY Rangers. They have two home games remaining before the playoffs start, and it’s just a matter of not getting hurt in these games. They don’t have the luxury of extra bodies, other than Ben Harpur, so they don’t have anyone taking the night off. They may rest Adam Fox on Thursday, given he didn’t skate this morning, but that remains to be seen.

Despite this being relatively meaningless for the Rangers, the Sabres have a lot to play for. They are six points back with two games in hand. So they need to win out and also get some help. The Rangers can essentially end their playoff hopes with a win today, as Buffalo really does need all eight points in this span. It’s rare that a team in the playoffs can play spoiler, so you know Buffalo will come at them with everything.
