Rangers Blue Jackets

With just three games remaining, the Rangers still have an outside shot at getting home ice over more teams in the playoffs. Carolina lost this afternoon, so a win tonight puts the Rangers within three points of the Canes. If the Devils lose, they will be within two points. It’s most likely not going to happen, but there’s still a mathematical chance the Rangers not only pass the Devils, but the Canes as well.

More importantly, the Rangers are getting Patrick Kane back tonight. That’s a sign he’s healthy and ready to go after missing the last two games while managing his hip issue. Health is the single most important factor for the Rangers heading into the playoffs. They need some luck, like all other teams, in staying healthy through the playoffs. This is one step in the right direction.

Aside from that, there’s nothing else going on for the Rangers tonight. It’s just a don’t get hurt before the playoffs game.
