The Rangers are in St. Louis to finish their final back to back of the 2022-2023 regular season. St. Louis is out of the race, having sold off most of their assets at the trade deadline. They still have some offensive talent up and down the lineup, so while this is clearly an inferior team, they are a team that can make the Rangers pay for mistakes with the puck.
The Blueshirts are still without Patrick Kane as he rests his hip. Ben Harpur will be in and the Rangers are running 11F/7D. Jacob Trouba will play despite leaving the game early in the first period last night.
This game has little impact on the standings, but a win clinches home ice over Tampa should it come to that later in the playoffs. The Devils are still within reach too, but the Rangers don’t control their own destiny there.
