The Rangers are back at it tonight, kicking off the final 10 games of the season in Sunrise to take on a Panthers team dealing with their own Pride Night controversies. Hopefully these are big enough distractions that the Panthers, specifically both Staal brothers, are off their game. The Rangers have a chance to play spoiler too, as the Panthers are within striking distance of both the Penguins and the Islanders for the two wild card spots.

At this point, the Blueshirts are on cruise control. It’s less about wins and losses, aside from trying to steal home ice in the first round, and more about finding the right lines and powerplay units heading into the playoffs. The lines have been torn apart two days in a row by the Carolina Hurricanes, but they did get better at the end of the game in Raleigh. The powerplay has been awful though. That needs to be fixed.
