NY Rangers Game 72: Rangers at Hurricanes

The Rangers are in Carolina to close out the home and home with the Hurricanes, looking to even up this two game run. The Canes were effective at slowing down and shutting down the Rangers at MSG, and the question now is whether or not Gerard Gallant will adjust. The powerplay has new units, so that’s one adjustment. Let’s see if breakouts and zone exits change as well.
Tonight will have a playoff atmosphere, as the Hurricanes can clinch a playoff spot tonight with a win of any kind. It’s a foregone conclusion that they –and the Rangers– will make the playoffs, it’s just a matter of when they clinch. Ideally the Rangers play spoiler for a day, and I’m sure they’d like to send a message that they won’t just roll over after one loss.
