A non-hockey post, as the Blue Seat Blogs Patreon has received a bit of an overhaul. First things first, anyone who has signed up, I greatly appreciate your support of the site. This December will mark 15 years of this site, and I can’t believe we’ve been here for this long. It’s because of you all that this site has kept going, and will hopefully continue going for another 15 years.

Until a few weeks ago, the Patreon didn’t have specific tiers, and it was $2/month to access the weekly Thoughts post. I always had plans to expand the Patreon, and that time has finally come.

Going forward, we will have two tiers for the Patreon:

  • $2/month (Member tier) – continued access to the weekly thoughts post. This remains unchanged.
  • $5/month (Subscriber tier) – access to the thoughts post, plus access to the new Discord channel.

That’s right, we’ve created a Discord channel for the BSB patrons!

The goal here is simple: Create a community to freely talk the Rangers, or anything really, with other fine folks. I always had a Discord in mind, and Twitter’s continued instability and significant increase in trolls has accelerated my timing in creating it. The funds go to paying the writers here (yes, I pay them, and I’d like to pay them more if I can), and if the Discord grows big enough, paying a moderator there as well.

Full disclosure: The ads here pay for the hosting and all other expenses that come with having your own site. It gets expensive quickly.

The Discord isn’t just a place to discuss Rangers hockey, as I’ve created several sub-channels to discuss all sports, any betting you may have, and DFS if you play. I am unsure if the Blue Seat Bookie posts (Tyler’s posts) will shift to the Discord, as that is up to him. My DFS lineup strategies will be discussed there for anyone interested. I also differ from Tyler on some bets, so I’ll be posting what I am betting on there as well. It is not just limited to hockey either.

For those that are currently subscribed, you’ll need to login to Patreon and assign yourself to a tier. I messaged the group about this, and if you have any questions, please email me.

Again, I want to thank you all for the continued support of the site. It means the world to me that you all continue to come here to read my ramblings. This site has always been a hobby, but I never thought it could grow into what it is today, and it is because of all of you who continue to visit and support us.

If you are interested in subscribing to the Patreon, you can do so by clicking here. There is no pressure, as most of the content here will continue to be free for as long as possible.
