Per Mollie Walker, the NY Rangers lineup today will be without both Ryan Lindgren and Tyler Motte today in Boston. This was somewhat expected, as the Rangers have four days off after today’s matinee against the Bruins. Giving them more time off to heal, while managing short term roster issues, is brutal for the short term, but works for the long term.
Naturally, this means the Rangers are going to be with just 16 skaters against the best team in the NHL. Those 16 skaters will not include two of their three best defensemen as well. Hopefully this is the end of the Rangers bad luck. It would be nice if the NHL didn’t make up rules as they went along, denying the Rangers an emergency recall, but that may be asking too much at this point.
