Ryan Lindgren injury: Will not return after boarding by TJ Oshie

Ryan Lindgren will not return tonight for the NY Rangers, per Emily Kaplan on the ABC broadcast. Lindgren was on the receiving end of a bad, but not necessarily dirty, hit by TJ Oshie.

The refs missed the boarding call on Oshie, and this was certainly a penalty. The missed call was bad, but this wasn’t really a dirty play by Oshie, who is not a noted dirty player. Lindgren’s arm was dangling, which leads us to think worst case scenario. It could just be a precaution to keep him out of the rest of this game. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
