The 2023 and 2013 Rangers offseasons have been eerily similar. Does that mean the Rangers are primed for a run?

Don’t look now, but the Rangers are 1-2-1 since their 7 game win streak and falling back in the standings yet again. They are now tied for 4th in the Metro with Pittsburgh and the Islanders, but are third in that tiebreaker. The Penguins have a game in hand and the Isles have more wins. Suffice it to say they need wins, and their schedule isn’t helping them at all.

You know what else isn’t helping? The constant line changes. The Rangers can’t find consistency on the ice, and their lack of consistency in their combos are certainly a factor. Until Gerard Gallant stops galaxy braining things and the players on the ice start executing regularly, we will continue to see this kind of hockey. It’s maddening.

Of all the games this month, the Florida game is one of the “must win” games against teams worse than them in the standings. Two points, preferably in regulation, is a must here.
