Is a Barclay Goodrow rotation needed?

It looks like the Kid Line is here to stay, as the latest iteration of the practice lines has the second and third lines remaining the same, but the Rangers top line adds Barclay Goodrow over Sammy Blais.

That trio spent 94 minutes together last year to rather bad results. They were sub-40% in overall shot-share, and had a 43.11% xGF%. They didn’t generate offense consistently (2.27 xGF/60) and were rough on defense (2.99 xGA/60). But they shot 17.5% last year while on the ice together, which is not sustainable.

PP1 continues to replace Ryan Strome with Vincent Trocheck. PP2 is all of the kids and Jacob Trouba as their chaperone.

As long as the Kid Line remains intact, the 1RW spot will be in flux. It’s unlikely the lines we see today are the lines we see for the rest of the season, so no need to lose your mind yet.
