The Rangers have traded goalie Alex Georgiev to Colorado for three draft picks. This move was expected some time today or tomorrow, and the Rangers got it done quickly.
OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired a third-round and fifth-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft, as well as a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, from Colorado in exchange for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev.

The 3rd and 5th round picks this year and the 3rd next year are a good return for a goalie that has declined the last two years. The Rangers were also negotiating from a position of weakness, given what everyone knew about Georgiev’s qualifying offer and the Rangers cap space/desire to trade Georgiev.
This is a good landing spot for Georgiev, and a good move for the Rangers to recoup some picks.
