Per Corey Pronman, the Rangers are inching closer to signing Bobby Trivigno out of UMass. Trivigno, an undrafted free agent, just finished his senior year, putting up a line of 20-29-49 in 37 games played.
Trivigno was a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, but was left out of the top-three. He was also named the Hockey East player of the year. Trivigno may be small, but he’s very skilled and will add scoring depth almost immediately to Hartford, with a shot at making the Rangers next season.
Trivigno is a LW, but that doesn’t matter too much. He’s a free asset, and players can play the off-wing as needed. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
