The Rangers have finally gotten Andrew Copp, with just minutes left in the trade deadline.
Copp, a versatile forward who can play all three positions, has a line of 13-22-35 this season. He will be a solid middle six add, bolstering the scoring on the third line. With Copp and Frank Vatrano in the mix, the third line is finally going to be deep enough to have enough offense. This, in turn helps the fourth line out as well.
The full trade, since it got complicated:
- To the Rangers: Copp, 2023 6th
- To Winnipeg:
- Morgan Barron
- 2022 2nd (Can be a 1st if the Rangers win 2 rounds)
- 2022 or 2023 2nd (Winnipeg’s choice)
- 2023 5th
