The Rangers have acquired winger Frank Vatrano from Florida in exchange for a 4th round pick. The pick will be the lower of the two between the Rangers pick and the Jets pick, as the Rangers have both.
The Florida Panthers are trading Frank Vatrano to the New York Rangers for a fourth round pick this year.
Official trade call hasn’t happened yet. @TSNHockey @TheAthletic— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 16, 2022
Vatrano doesn’t move the needle much, but at the very least is an adequate stopgap on the third line until the team gets healthy. Vatrano isn’t a noted scorer, but he should help provide some forechecking stability to the middle/bottom six in the interim.
The cost is low, so at the very least this is a low risk move to help solidify the bottom half of the lineup.
