Patrik Nemeth placed on IR

There is clearly something off with Patrik Nemeth right now. The Rangers have placed him on IR, per Mollie Walker.

This comes after two separate stints of Nemeth stepping away for personal reasons. Reading between the lines, this IR stint is likely related to his personal issues that have come up. We hope that Nemeth is ok.

From a purely hockey standpoint, placing Nemeth on IR opens a roster spot at the NHL level. We know Kaapo Kakko won’t be activated any time soon. Something could be brewing, or it could just be a paperwork thing for Nemeth.
