A little late here, since this happened this afternoon. The Rangers placed Kaapo Kakko on IR, meaning he will be out for at least seven days. They have recalled Morgan Barron from Hartford in the interim.

The good news is that Gerard Gallant doesn’t believe this will be a long term issue for Kakko, and he should be good to go in a week.
Barron has earned the call up, scoring twice and looking great in Hartford’s first two games thus far. Wonder what Vitali Kravtsov is up to?
