Around the Farm: Matthew Robertson with goal and assist in big win

Matthew Robertson notched a goal and an assist last night in Edmonton’s 8-3 win. Robertson is one of the few Rangers prospects still in regular action, and has put up a solid season thus far. He has a line of 5-15-20 in 19 games. He is expected to be in Hartford next season.

Today’s post covers yesterday’s games as well. In Europe, Lauri Pajuniemi (TPS) and Adam Edstrom (Rogle) are in the semi finals in the playoffs. Jakob Ragnarsson is in the Allsvenskan finals, but he doesn’t play again for another week.

Leagues that have finished (KHL, NCAA) have been moved to the bottom of the list.

    • Robertson is exactly the type of player that the Rangers need. Why would they want trade him?

      • Because they love Schneider more and they can’t keep them all.

There is no way on God’s green earth that the Rangers will not have 2 vets on D. Trouba is one and they will get another for the left side.

So that leaves 4 spots for: Fox, Lindgren, Miller, Nils, Robertson, Schneider, Jones, and even Tarmo. From what I hear, Schneider is not going anywhere. So, if they are going to trade for impact players, then someone will be going. Nils appears to be a lock to stay as well. And certainly Fox, Lindgren, and Miller are locks for spots next year.

See what I mean? Want to amend what you said?

        • Robertson will compete with Jones Lindgren and Miller on the left side D. He has the potential to be better hockey player then any of the three.

          • There is zero chance that Robertson plays before Lindgren and Miller. Zero.

          • How can you tell Robertson has zero chance before they even share the ice? What if HE IS better? Stats, videos tell you one thing. Actual competition lets the cream rise no? If not lets forget training camp cause that would be a waste of time. We all have favorites until someone better comes along and often times they aren’t supposed to be that good. And the NY Rangers for years cant see the forest from the trees with D. Some examples that still get my goat…and not in any order…. Marc Tinordi, Kjell Samuelsson, Terry Carkner, Mattias Norstrom, Reijo Ruotsalainen, Anton Stralman, oh yeah before I forget….Sergie Zubov and finally Ryan Graves. What do all these guys have in common? They started with the Rangers, got traded for guys that were not at their compete level and finished successful careers elsewhere. Now with Robertson never have playing pro……..how do you know? Give the kid a year or 2 and see. We keep doing the same thing year after year…..falling in love with names….not actions. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion….respect

          • where’s he playing? everyone is ganging up on me about it but where is he playing?

            Lindgren-Fox
            Miller-Trouba
            NHL vet-Nils

where is Robertson playing? 7th D? no, lol.

          • Robertson slots in after Lindgren’s bridge deal expires.

After a year in Hartford, Robbo will be a superior 3D rather than a replacement level vet.

  • Hartford beat Providence today 3-2 in OT, Ronning had a goal and Gettinger an assist, Huska got the win.

  • Hartford officially eliminated from winning the division today with the OT win.

Now assuming Barron & whatshisnuts stay up unless one of them defecates in the sleeping device.

  • By the time Robertson and Schneider (who both have an edge to their game)are ready say 2 years , we can trade trouba.Fox and lindgren , though still young will be considered veterans. Fox, lundqvist, Schneider on the right.miller, lindgren , Robertson on the left gives you very good top six defense for years to come. Jones, hajek, ruenenen, and any other d-prospects become trade chips
