The accolades keep coming in for Nils Lundkvist, as he has won the Salming Trophy for the 2021 season. The Salming Trophy is awarded annually to the best Swedish-born SHL defenseman, and is selected by Borje Salming. Lundkvist is expected to join the Rangers next season, as he is not eligible to come over until his SHL season ends. He will compete for a roster spot, and quite possibly has the inside track to the 3RD spot in camp. That is, of course, if he isn’t traded this offseason.
