Former Rangers goalie Mackenzie Skapski has been hired by the Chilliwack Chiefs in the BCHL as their goaltending coach. Skapski will forever live in Rangers lore. In his two emergency starts in 2014-2015, Skapski got the Sabres twice. He won both games, allowing just one goal. He posted a 0.50 GAA with a .978 SV% and a shutout. Skapski made 44 saves across both games.
In addition, he also gave us this gem with Mackenzie Catski:

Skapski’s NHL career was derailed by a pretty brutal hip injury. He never recovered. Hip injuries and goalies don’t mix, just ask Rick DiPietro. Happy to see Mackenzie Skapski get a shot with the Chilliwack Chiefs as their goaltending coach.
