Some sad news, as Henrik Lundqvist announced today that he will not be able to play in the 2021 season due to a heart condition. Lundqvist announced on Twitter that he will not be joining the Washington Capitals. Hank will be re-evaluating his next steps.

Lundqvist was bought out by the Rangers this offseason, as the Rangers were looking to turn the page to the next era of goaltending. Lundqvist signed with the Caps on the first day of free agency.

The news is heart breaking, as I think we all wanted to see Hank be successful in DC. A heart condition is very serious, and we wish Henrik Lundqvist well in his recovery. We hope to see him on the ice as soon as medically possible.
