It looks like the NY Rangers are going to join the NHL’s alternate jersey craze. The NHL Shop has a nice little blurb at the bottom of the Rangers page:

The highlighted piece is the interesting bit, that says the Rangers will have a retro and fourth jersey. There’s nothing else to go on yet, but fans have been clamoring for an alternate jersey for some time. The last time the Rangers had a true alternate jersey was the heritage jersey. They had a few one-offs for outdoor games, but nothing they wore more than once or twice.

There have been a lot of fan mockups, and this is by far my favorite. It’s a nice take on the Lady Liberty jersey, but a lot sleeker and brings it into the 21st century.
The Rangers jersey is classic and should never be touched. Especially after that disaster in the 70s. However a nice, clean NY Rangers alternate jersey would be nice. Hopefully they don’t botch it, if and when it comes.
