The NY Rangers have used their original 5th round pick, #134, to select LW Brett Berard.
The Rangers selected forward Brett Berard with the 134th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Berard skated in 41 games with the U.S. National U18 Team in the National Team Development Program (NTDP) in 2019-20, recording 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. #NYR

Berard is a small but very talented winger. He plays a solid two-way game, is a great skater, and is good with the puck.
After using their early round picks on bigger players, the Rangers are again going high ceiling with their mid and late round picks. Going high ceiling is always a good strategy.
