rangers hurricanes jesper fast

The last nugget in Larry Brooks’ article yesterday was regarding Jesper Fast and his future with the Rangers. Per Brooks, it looks like the Rangers and Fast are going to be parting ways. No additional details were provided.

This was always a possibility. Fast is projected to get about $3 million on the open market on a 3-4 year deal. The Rangers have Pavel Buchnevich and Kaapo Kakko on the right side, with Vitali Kravtsov on his way at some point. That’s an awful lot to pay for a bottom-six winger, potentially fourth line winger.

If the Rangers are managing their cap space properly, then they are looking for low cost replacements. Stefan Noesen is my pick if the Rangers’ future is without Jesper Fast.
