Mika Zibanejad is the winner of the 2020 Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award. The award is given annually to the Ranger for dedication to the Rangers and the community.

Zibanejad, despite missing a chunk of games due to injury, still led the league in goals per game at .72, putting up a line of 41-34-75 in just 57 games.
Zibanejad is pegged by many to be the next captain. It seems like it will be between him and Chris Kreider. There are compelling reasons for both, and there is no wrong choice there.
