Rangers sign K’Andre Miller to entry level contract

Prized prospect comes over from Wisconsin

The New York Rangers have signed 2018 first round draft pick K’Andre Miller to an entry level contract. Miller, who just finished his sophomore season, is one of the Bluershirts’ top prospects, and someone who, with time, could become a legitimate top pairing defenseman for the Rangers.

Miller finished up this season with a line of 7-11-18 in 36 games, actually down a little from his 5-17-22 freshman year. That said, Wisconsin was notable bad this year, so it’s tough to go based off scoring output alone.

Given the state of the left defense, Miller will likely be given every opportunity to make the big club outright next season.

  • The Rangers must have seen your write up on the Left D…and acted accordingly…I give the team a lot of credit. Even with the season suspended they keep delivering for the fans…

  • I look so forward to the arrival of this kid for many reasons. He is a converted forward, has speed, skill, smart, built solid, and is a great character kid. The day he was drafted I remember him saying how he wanted to make his mother proud of him, that tugged on my heart strings. I so want for this kid to be a star for us for many years to come!!!!!!!

    • He is huge and fast, but he was real raw when drafted. so while I want to see him on Broadway I am going to be patient

  • Let’s be patient with him, let him grow and develop his game in Hartford. Let’s treat him like Chytil, not Kakko, let him play in the AHL until he dominates at his position. Both he and the team will be better for it.
