David Quinn has shaken up the NY Rangers lines, as the Blueshirts are in the middle of a scoring drought at even strength.
Chris Kreider – Mika Zibanejad- Pavel Buchnevich/Kaapo Kakko
Artemi Panarin – Filip Chytil – Jesper Fast
Phil Di Giuseppe – Ryan Strome – Buchnevich/Kakko
Brett Howden – Greg McKegg – Brendan Lemieux
I am intrigued to see how Chytil does with Panarin, as it is more likely than not he is the 2C –and possibly 1C– of the future. This also gives us a good look at Strome and how he does away from Panarin. I wouldn’t be surprised if this experiment plays into Strome’s future in New York.
It is interesting to see Di Giuseppe get top-nine minutes over both Howden and Lemieux. The Rangers need a more balanced scoring attack, and Howden/Lemieux on the fourth line gives them the best fourth line they’ve had all season. If Di Giuseppe can hang in the top-nine, it’s a pretty well balanced lineup.
