Rangers recall Phil Di Giuseppe

The Rangers have recalled forward Phil Di Giuseppe from Hartford. This is his second recall this season, though he didn’t get in a game in his last recall.

This recall was done last night – sorry for the delay on it. Super Bowl, work, etc. I’d guess PDG plays if Chris Kreider can’t go.

  • I was hoping to see Kravtsov..Maybe the last few games of the season…no point in blowing a year on his ELC.

    • Kravtsov is not slide eligible, so this counts as the first year of his ELC in any case.

Since returning. Kravtsov has 7 points and 32 shots in 18 games. His rate of taking shots over that period (the more promising number) is actually fifth on the team – behind diGuiseppi, Lettieri, Beleskey, Gettinger. So he is playing at a respectable level (and even getting some first line action) in Hartford, but he is not yet excelling. PATIENCE

We won’t learn anything by seeing Kravtsov in any case because we are presuming he is part of the future. DiGuiseppe on the other hand is a restricted free agent with some talent and it would be interesting to know if he is worth hanging on to – or if they should try some other castoff next year in his place.
