Day Four Recap

All of the NY Rangers prospects were in action yesterday in a busy day at the 2020 World Juniors. First up, Sweden topped Kazakhstan by a score of 6-2. Nils Lundkvist shined, with two assists in 19:14 TOI. Karl Henriksson also added an assist in 14:50 TOI.

Switzerland was up next, topping Slovakia 7-2 for a big win for the Swiss. Nico Gross did not play with an injury. That’s worth keeping an eye on.

Team USA squeaked by the Czech Republic in OT, with Cole Caufield grabbing the winner. K’Andre Miller had an assist in 17:13 TOI, while Zac Jones notched a tournament-high 18:13 TOI.

Today it’s only Team USA with the off day. Sweden and Switzerland are both in action.

  • The round robin is completed with the Swedes taking group A and Canada taking group B. Lots of impressive players in this tournament, but I am not quite so enamoured with the Ranger prospects so far. Not that they are playing poorly, just that they haven’t really stood out.
