As the 2010’s come to a close, there have been a lot of good memories for the Rangers. As Rob pointed out, the decade was one of the best in Rangers history, with seven playoff appearances, nine playoff series wins, two Eastern Conference Finals appearances and one Stanley Cup Finals appearance. As we round out the close of the decade, I polled the BSB writers for their top moments. Today, we review out best regular season game of the decade:

Rob L: I’m going to go back to 2013-14 to a random pre-Thanksgiving game on 11/23 when the Rangers just buried the Canadiens 5-0. 56% Corsi, 76% Expected Goals, and I was working from home for the week of Thanksgiving to boot. I couldn’t find the full highlights, but then I remembered that Martin St. Louis was on that team and he just embarrassed Alexi Emelin in his own zone.

For a random regular season game, that was enjoyable.

Pat: The massive comeback win against the Minnesota Wild on October 27, 2014. The Rangers scored five in the third period. Fun fact: Anthony Duclair scored his first NHL goal in this one, and it was the tying goal. Mats Zuccarello added the winner.

Rob C: Rangers over Islanders, 6-5. Game-winning goal by Kevin Klein. The Blueshirts overcame a pair of two-goal deficits in this one, with Klein adding the winner with 4:32 left in the third. This is when Klein was developing his reputation as a big moment scorer for the Rangers, when it felt like all of his goals were tying or winning goals.

Becky:  I am not one of these people who can possibly remember a game from a season 4 years ago for no real reason, so I’m going with Game 1 of this season. It was a fun mess of a game and frankly is the basic norm of this season, which is why I actually L O L when people freak out on Twitter all the time about them. Also, this game got me through a 2 hour delay in O’Hare so thanks for that, Rangies.

Tyler:  For me, this has to be the 5-4 comeback win against the Wild in the 2014-2015 season. I’ll never forget watching that in a student work area at my university in our main hall and absolutely losing it while classes were going on. From Duclair tying it, to Zucc getting the go-ahead goal, it’s a game that brings a lot of good memories.

Dave: I’m going way back on this one. January 12, 2010, Rangers/Devils. Ninety-six shots on goal. Ninety-six saves by Henrik Lundqvist and Martin Brodeur. This was the quintessential passing of the torch for Brodeur, the goalies of the 2000’s, to Lundqvist, the goalie of the 2010’s. Brodeur stopped 51 Rangers shots and four of four shootout attempts. Lundqvist stopped 45 Devils shots and three of four shootout attempts. Yes, the Rangers lost on a Patrik Elias shootout goal, but what a game this was.
