Game 57: Sabre spoiling

The Rangers are in Buffalo tonight looking to potentially spoil the Sabres’ playoff hopes. Buffalo sits two spots and four points out of a playoff spot and may look to add at the deadline to push those playoff dreams. The Rangers are holding on to the spoiler role as long as their UFAs are still around and not being shipped off.

The Blueshirts are basically a one-line team and a goalie right now. If that top line scores a bunch and whichever goalie makes some key saves, they win games. It’s not the best approach, but at least we’ve seen the awakening of Mika Zibanejad.

Hank will have a shutout in his mind if Georgiev plays. lol

Chytil should be on the 2nd line with Hayes and Buch, that’s when he played best (on the 2nd line with Hayes).

Nah, Chytil fits much better with Boo and Brickley, can’t you see that???

  • Feb 15, 2019 at 5:35 pm

Omg. Chytil scratched. Rangers twitter having epic meltdown. I’ll say this – the kid has looked totally out of it for the last few games so this isn’t a bad idea. But the 7 D absolutely sucks…

Sittoo – he could dress 12 D and it won’t help ! Sitting ADA is the dumb move !

Obviously Quinn wants to tank with those healthy scratches. 😉

    ADA !!! Oh Baby

  • Feb 15, 2019 at 9:32 pm

    There’s your secondary scoring tonight

  • Feb 15, 2019 at 9:42 pm

    What a fun game …

ADA was great, that one punch of Kyle Okposo is a memory that will carry me through the summer.

Buch finding some rhythm — please no benchings, no injuries … when he gets on his little rolls he’s the player you think he can be.

Good game by Brady Skjei, he actually looked like rookie Skjei … until the injury.

Kudos to Georgi, he was solid.

When Tony started with Kyle Okposo I thought he bit more than he could chew. When he landed that right, it was a sight to see. I think Okposo was knocked silly, because the refs were holding him up and thought, by their body language, that he was really hurt!!!!!!!!

Walt that was as good a measured punch as I’ve seen in a while — didn’t know our Italian Stallion had that in him, maybe he was thinking of Quinn scratching him. lol In all honesty I don’t wish a concussion on anyone but Okposo deserved a good smack in the face for that check on Zucc — once again the ref plays three blind mice.

          Hey Rocky!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Only saw last 5 minutes just in time to see Vlad score twice. His reaction (and Mika’s) was priceless! Sounds like Georgi had another sparkling outing. I’d play him vs Pitt Sunday and give Hank the whole week off. How was Brickley?

    • Feb 15, 2019 at 11:22 pm

Um, not too bad actually … that line with Smith and Boo played a pretty spirited game. Not sure why, but he should have definitely gotten an assist on Boo’s goal.

    • Feb 15, 2019 at 11:23 pm

What you really want to see though is Tony’s fight with Okposo. 😉

      • Feb 15, 2019 at 11:25 pm

You mean one punch ! That #40 is pretty solid so let’s sit him ?

        • Feb 16, 2019 at 12:25 am

Sieve, I’m all in on Georgi continuing to play especially vs Pitt Sunday while he is on fire. Let Hank have the week off and get his head (and game) straightened out while truly giving Georgi enough starts to see what they have in him. He looks terrific since the Allstar break and Hank (other than the Canes game) has been struggling. I’d play Hank again vs the Canes next week and if he’s still in a slump give Georgi a few more.

Let’s see what DQ does Sittoo. Maybe he found a spot for Smith… lol

            • Feb 16, 2019 at 6:39 am

Just play Smitty as a winger and development be damned! Way better than 7 D…

              • Feb 16, 2019 at 8:41 am

Smith has been half way alright , not playing up to his salary amount for sure but none of our overpaid D are doing such. Talbot is out of the goalie dying town and headed to Philly which hasn’t had much luck with netminders the past 30 years !

              • Feb 16, 2019 at 9:01 am

It’s funny, ever since Pelly Lindburg died in that auto accident, they have never been able to get a top goalie to perform. They had Hexy for a while, but he turned out to suck as well in the end………..

              • Feb 16, 2019 at 11:19 am

They had Bob in there before a bit before they traded him and committed to Mr. Universe

                I still enjoy that

  • Feb 16, 2019 at 10:08 am

Walt … that was a sad day.

  • Feb 16, 2019 at 10:22 am

Just re-sign them all and bring back the same team.
