Well I’m back from Aruba, and back in the swing of things with the 2019 World Juniors. Sorry for the lack of coverage until now, but I’m guessing you all can appreciate the need for R&R.

Four Rangers prospects are representing their respective countries for the World Juniors this year: Nico Gross (Switzerland), K’Andre Miller (USA), Vitali Kravtsov, and Nils Lundkvist (Sweden). Joey Keane likely would have made the USA team, but suffered a last minute injury.

Here are how they’ve been doing so far:

  • Gross: 3 GP, 0 G, 1 A, averaging 17:56 TOI
  • Miller: 3 GP, 0 G, 1 A, averaging 16:47 TOI
  • Kravtsov: 2 GP, 1 G, 1 A, averaging 18:08 TOI
  • Lundkvist: 3 GP, 0 G, 1 A, averaging 17:40 TOI

The round robin portion of play ends on New Year’s Eve. Kravtsov and Gross will square off tonight at 8pm. This game will be on the NHL Network, if you’re interested.

The top four teams from each pool make it to the round robin, and none of the NYR prospects are in danger of missing the elimination tournament, which begins on January 2.
