Game 8: Back at it against Calgary

The Rangers are back at it today against Calgary at MSG. The Blueshirts are still trying to figure things out, and Calgary might be a good team for everything to come together. The Flames are around .500 right now, and struggling to keep the puck out of their own net. With the Blueshirts struggling to score, this is an ideal situation.

If Frederik Claesson can’t go, it’ll be Adam McQuaid back in the lineup. The forwards are expected to remain the same. Calgary, despite it’s defensive struggles, is still potent on offense, so that blue line will be tested early and possibly often.

Flames Lines:

Johnny Gaudreau – Sean Monahan – Elias Lindholm
Matthew Tkachuk – Mikael Backlund – Michael Frolik
Sam Bennett – Mark Jankowski – James Neal
Garnet Hathaway – Derek Ryan – Dillon Dube

Mark Giordano – TJ Brodie
Noah Hanifin – Rasmus Andersson
Juuso Valimaki – Michael Stone

Mike Smith gets the start.

On another note – Sam Rosen And Ronde Barber have been doing the Bucs games on Fox.

    They make a good duo.

Ronde definitely has a bright future in the booth. Sam is a play by play master, but I keep waiting for him to shout out “That’s a Power Play Goal!!!!!

The Rangers still have lots to sort out in their end. The Zib Kreider Fast line on all 3 goals as they simply don’t understand the concept of backchecking.

Gaudreau is really fun to watch (unless you’re the opposing goalie). First game Hank hasn’t been a difference maker and/or kept them close. I think they played hard, just not very smart. Curse of the backup goalie continues. Tip of the hat to Rittich..

We have a good way of doing that , say what you want about talent and he had this shot and that far shot . This Vezina Backup made all kinds of saves ( in close , tips , rebounds Etc ) . Why Shattenkirk and Staal are on the ice at the same time is beyond me . Why was I seeing McCloed on the ice for most of the game , was that my imagination??
