Hayes, Skjei, Spooner, Vesey file for arbitration

The four remaining key RFAs have all filed for arbitration. Jimmy Vesey, Brady Skjei, Ryan Spooner, and Kevin Hayes have all filed, and are now unable to accept offer sheets. This is a normal step in the process.

Worth noting that Boo Nieves, John Gilmour, and Rob O’Gara did not file for arbitration. The likelihood of an offer sheet for this is unlikely, though.

What contract do you think Hayes could get in the open market? He’s expressed that he wants to be a NYR for life but I’m curious to what a contender would pay for his services.

We have trouble in Rangerland. NYR may have cap space but are they all wanted at $$ they want? Forcing Mgmt hand?

Hayes, Skjei both will be signed to a fair contract. I can see the other two signed, and traded if they push too hard………….

I think Hayes will take a pay cut which deflates being fair and will negotiate a couple years with a NTC. His side started the negotiation with 5.5 mill but yet I’m seeing that the start up cost for him could be around 6 mill. That to me tells me that he won’t ask to break the bank even with all the money that the Rangers have. Maybe some signing bonuses and a NTC for half of his contract will be considered.

Nieves, Gilmour & O’Gara have until end of business on July 15 to find a better deal or re-sign with the Rangers or the qualifying offer goes away.

Euro camps start in a little over 3 weeks, their respective agents have 10 days to find them a better deal.

If the Rangers offered them two way deals, I’m half expecting all of them to go to Europe. If one way deals, staying is their best bet.

I like O’Gara, I’m aware that I’m in the minority here. He plays physical, is mostly very responsible defensively, and has shown he’ll stand up for teammates.
