The Rangers have selected defenseman Sean Day with their third round pick, #81 overall. Day is a big kid at 6’2″, 224 lbs at just 18 years old. But don’t let his size fool you, Day is one of the best skaters in the draft and is a potential home run pick for the Rangers. Day’s a very good puck mover, and as mentioned a great skater with huge potential.
kudos to the @NYRangers for picking Day with their first pick. Home run potential. Bust too, but not too many home runs left

There seem to be some concerns about his compete level, but this is a great risk taken by the Rangers. They went for talent and skating on the blue line, something they needed desperately. Day was given “exceptional skater” status in the OHL and allowed to enter the league at just 15 years old. Day instantly becomes one of the top prospects in the Rangers’ system.

Sean Day has everything you want in terms of the toolbox. Good size, great skater. He hasn't put it together yet.

Rangers take Sean Day with their first pick. There is obviously a lot of risk here (commitment?), but high potential, too (great skater).
