Rangers re-sign Chris Summers to one-year, two-way contract

The Rangers have re-signed defenseman Chris Summers to a one-year, two-way contract. Summers has been a depth defensemen for the Rangers since being acquired from Arizona in the Keith Yandle deal, playing a total of six games for the Rangers in that season and a half.

Summers carries a cap hit of $600,000 at the NHL level. His salary will be $300,000 at the AHL level.

Are we gonna address the reports of no contract offer to Yandle?

Very strange move. Has shown to be a poor emergency replacement, expensive for an AHL player, is a “veteran” skater and the Pack are limited to five in any one game. Makes more sense to sign an unknown journeymen and hope to get lucky.
