Mats Zuccarello back in “light” training, per agent

Per Mats Zuccarello’s agent, the injured winger is back in light training (note: Norwegian article) after suffering what he believes to be a serious concussion. Zuccarello was struck in the side of the head by a Ryan McDonagh slap shot in Game Five against the Penguins. While there is no timetable for his return, light work is always a good sign. This should hopefully put an end to the silly rumor started by one of those “anonymous” accounts that his career was over.

S/T to @sirlondon_ for the tip.

  1. This is a very good sign for Zucc, and his health. It’s too late for this series, and even if we advance, it may be too late for this season, but it’s still very good news just the same. As I stated in an earlier post, Zucc take care of yourself, and just get well, even though we are missing you!!!!!!!

  2. Same old, same old. They come out strong, and they get nothing. I got chills when I saw Zuke. At least he isn’t near death!

  3. Kreider and McD are clearly Bob Marley fans because tonight they were singing Redemption Song.

    On to Game 6!

    LGR!

  4. Could be a defining moment for this team going forward. Can’t get too far ahead of themselves; they still trail. But I think some of the mystique of Holtby might have washed away tonight. Almost let in Hagelin’s shot in OT, and seemed to lose the puck on the winner(thanks to Kreider’s screen). Time to go in to Washington and show this team who the F***k they’re playing——Conference Champs, League Champs and Stanley Cup Finalists from a year ago. Oh yeah, we got a goalie too!!! Bring it!!!
