It’s Sunday, here’s the the link dump from around Al Gore’s inter-web.

Patrick Hoffman at Kukla’s Korner has a great piece about what he misses about today’s NHL. I miss home white’s too. It used to be that whenever I’d go to a game, I’d see a different away team jersey, now it’s always the same with the white away’s. Home white’s just sound nicer too.

Apparently the LA Kings inquired about the availability of Marian Gaborik (per Bruce Garrioch, so take that with a grain of salt). Personally, I wouldn’t be shocked if they did, but it’s just Dean Lombardi doing his homework. Calls like this happen all the time.

The Hockey Suit has a Bill Maher inspired “New Rules” that is very Rangers based. My favorite? The Blue Seats rule…really, why are they green?

In case you missed the drama, the Islanders claimed Evgeny Nabokov off waivers. Of course this came after Nabokov agreed to a deal with the Red Wings, and now the Finnish Russian netminder is refusing to report to Long Island. As much as I dislike the Islanders, hockey is a business. You report to the team that claimed you. Be professional.

The alternate captains for the 2011 All Star Game were announced. Patrick Kane and Martin St. Louis will be Niklas Lidstrom’s alternates, while Ryan Kesler and Mike Green will be Eric Staal’s alternates. The draft is actually something I’m looking forward to, in an otherwise meaningless game.
